Accounts to access the online platform must be set up by 14:00 (EET) November 22 2021.

All requests for clarifications or questions regarding the Competition must be submitted by 14:00 (EET) on 29 November 2021 via the Competition online platform.

Answers to all requests for clarifications will be provided by 7 December 2021 here.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 1 February 2022 at 14:00 (EET).

According to the Competition Announcement, Articles 9.3 and 12, the personal data of the applicant as well as the deliverable files should be submitted in both Greek and English.

More specifically, the A0 Posters should be submitted only in English, while the Presentation Document (A3) should be submitted in both Greek and English. For additional information regarding the Deliverables here.  The personal data of the applicants should be completed in both languages (Greek and English).

No, each architect or team can submit one application only.

The appendices to the Competition Announcement and all information included in the Competition folder shall be provided exclusively to registered users – participants who have created an individual online account on the Competition’s online platform.

Once the deadline (22 November 2021) for creating an online account has passed there is no possibility of participating. Any extension to the deadline will be announced here .

An application will be disqualified if:

  • it was not submitted by 14:00 (EET) on 1 February 2022.
  • one or more of the deliverables, as defined in the Competition Announcement, Article 12, have not been submitted.
  • the deliverable files are not anonymous: if there it includes the names of any individual, group of individuals, team, office or company.
  • anywhere in the deliverables there is a reference of any type (including file names) that identifies the Participant(s)
  • after being selected for a Cash Prize by the Selection Committee it is proved that the Participant has not submitted all supporting documents as described in the Competition Announcement, Article 4.4, or the additional information as described in the Competition Announcement, Article 9.3, or is deemed not to comply with the Competition Participation requirements as described in the Competition Announcement, in Article 4.

The only way to enter the Competition is through the Competition’s online platform. Additional information regarding the submission process as well as in the Competition Announcement, Articles 8 and 9.

No, the application procedure is completed entirely via the online platform. There is no need to send any hard copies.

To visit the site of the proposed building, the registered Participant must schedule a date and time via the Competition online platform. To confirm the visit the Participant must submit the full names of all persons wishing to visit the site. On the day of the visit, all visitors must present their ID, and their EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate before entering the site. It is strictly prohibited to take photographs of the area when school pupils or other minors are present.

The answers to all requests for clarifications will be answered by 7 December 2021.

The results of the Competition will be announced on the Competition’s website by 28 February 2022. The successful proposals will also be contacted via email.

The intellectual property in the designs/proposals, architectural drawings, other documents and other information submitted by the participants in the Competition shall belong to the participating architects and shall be governed by Law 2121/1993.

During the Competition, the Organizers, the Selection Committee and any agents thereof shall not claim, for any reason, any intellectual property rights in the designs – proposals while the Participants retain intellectual property rights in the works described above.

A participant’s 12 years’ experience as an architect is proved by a certificate of registration at the Technical Chamber of Greece or the corresponding professional certificate of registration of a foreign country in which case it is required that at the last date for submitting proposals, as defined in article 9.1 of the Competition Announcement, the participant is in possession of the professional activity permit required by law for an architect in Greece (Technical Chamber of Greece).

In the case that a Participant falls under the category “teams of associated architects” (as defined in the Competition Announcement, Article 4.1.c), at least one member of the team needs to be a Greek citizen with at least twelve (12) years’ experience as architect and in possession of the professional activity permit required by law for an architect in Greece (Technical Chamber of Greece) by the final date for submitting proposals (1 February 2021).

Should a Participant fall into the category “teams of associated architects” (as defined in the Competition Announcement, Article 4.1.c), it is mandatory that one member of the team has the necessary 12 years’ experience as an architect and that the same person possesses the professional activity permit required by law for an architect in Greece (Technical Chamber of Greece) on the last day for submitting proposals (1 February 2021).

In the case where a Participant is a legal person with more than one legal representative, one of them should complete the application. The representative submitting the application should, on the final day of submitting proposals (1 February 2022) have 12 years’ experience as an architect and be in possession of the professional activity permit required by law for an architect in Greece (Technical Chamber of Greece, TEE). In case this legal person collaborates with other architects (see the Competition Announcement, Article 4.1.c), at least one of them should have the necessary 12 years’ experience and also be in possession of the professional activity permit required by law for an architect in Greece (Technical Chamber of Greece). In any case, the legal representative submitting the application should be an architect.
